Computer Services

Public Use Computers

We offer internet enabled computers loaded with the Microsoft Office Suite and Internet access for free public use. 

Free Wifi

All of our branches offer free WiFi for you to connect to on your device of choice.

Photocopying, printing and Scanning

Don't own a printer? Come into one of our branches and print off or copy your documents.

Internet on the Go

Don't have access to the internet when you need it? Borrow one of our pocket sized hotspots to get internet wherever there is Bell coverage.

Public Computers

We have public computers at both of our branches.

Main Branch

  • North Upper Wing: Host to printing services and over twenty computers this is our central computer services point and friendly staff at the conveniently situated Computer Services desk are always happy to help with your computer needs.
  • Young Adult Section: Our Young Adult section hosts several computers set aside for exclusively teens to use.
  • Kids Section: Ten computers are available in our south lower section that are exclusively accessible to children. Additionally we have Early Learning computers loaded with language and image recognition training games.

Crossings Branch

  • Central Aisle: One of the first things you will encounter when you walk into the Crossings Branch. Host to printing services and in close proximity to our customer service desk for easy access to our friendly staff.
  • Digital Learning Center: On the North side of the Crossings branch, is a quiet computer lab for work and research.
  • Kids Section: Hosts two computers exclusively accessible to children. Additionally we have Early Learning computers loaded with language and image recognition training games. 

Library Card Users: 120 minutes per day

Guest Pass Users: 60 minutes per day

In Addition to Google Chrome for web browsing computers have the following software available for free use.

  • Microsoft Office Word
  • Microsoft Office Excel
  • Microsoft Office Powerpoint
  • Microsoft Office Publisher
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • VLC Media Player

Anybody in the Lethbridge community can access our public computers. Computers can be accessed with your Lethbridge Public Library card and PIN, or with a guest pass distributed at our customer service desks. If you haven't set up a PIN on your library card, simply call us and we'll help you out.

public Wi-fi

Wi-Fi is available for free throughout and around our buildings during open hours! There is no password – just connect to the Lethbridge Public Library network.  

Photocopying and Printing

Crossings Branch: The Main aisle of the Crossings Branch has a Toshiba Printer which can be accessed from any of the computers at the branch.

Computer Services: The Computer Services area in the Upper North wing of the LPL Main Branch hosts a printer that can be accessed by any of the computers in the wing.

Children's Services: The Children's area in the Lower South wing of the LPL Main Branch hosts a printer that can be accessed by any patron using the children's computers. Children's computers are only accessible to children under the age of 12.

Colour Options: Both Colour and Black and White are available.

Double Sided: Both Single Sided and double sided print options are available.

Supported Paper Sizes: Letter (8 1/2" x 11") Legal (8 1/2" x 14") Ledger (11 x 17)

We currently charge 25 cents per page.

We currently don't offer Printing from personal devices. However, you can email a document to print@lethlib.ca and staff will print off your document at the main branch for you to pick up.

We currently don't offer Faxing at any of our locations.

Internet on the Go

Don't have access to the internet when you need it? Borrow one of our pocket sized hotspots to get internet wherever there is Bell coverage.

Any resident of Lethbridge over the age of 12 with a valid library card can borrow a Hotspot.

MIFI hotspots are available for one-week loans. Items must be returned within 24 hours after the one-week checkout. These items are not eligible for renewal. Hotspots must be returned in-person to the branch from which it was borrowed by close of business, they cannot be returned through the book drops.  

Chromebooks are also available from the Computer Services Desk for 3 hour loans, that are in library use only.
